Upender and downender
Tilting, upending and simultaneous lifting or lowering
Upender and downender from MSB turn and tilt paper rolls, coils or pallets not only on their horizontal axis, but can also lift or lower them up to 8 metres high. This allows the goods being conveyed to efficiently change direction twice in a single step.
The tilting, lifting or turning process is driven either hydraulically, pneumatically or by an electric motor. In case of electrical design, MSB's upender and downender can be driven in 3 ways:
- Direct drive: the electric motor is installed directly on the turning axle.
- Crank axle: power is transmitted to the tilting or setting-up device by the electric motor via a mechanical linkage consisting of at least 2 elements.
- Open chain system: the electric motor drives a chain system with a counterweight (similar to a lowerator), which moves the conveyor platform and controls the horizontal change of direction.
Which of these 3 options is the best for your goods depends upon the lifting height and the unit weight. However, all upender and downender from MSB can handle piece goods weighing up to 10 tons.
Upender and downender from MSB can be fitted and combined with all common conveying elements:
- Chain conveyors
- Slat Conveyors
- Roller conveyors
- Shuttle cars
- and many more…
